Social media users have been discussing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominations which commenced on Thursday.

The nominations which kicked off in Busia, Bungoma and Machakos counties were marred by chaotic scenes as aspirants differed over the results.

Most of those who commented under the hashtag expressed their views on the progress of the primaries highlighting some of the challenges that had been reported such as alleged irregularities and lack of ballot papers in different polling stations.

Others attacked and ridiculed the Party especially after chaotic scenes were witnessed in some of the polling stations.

Kenyans on Friday morning woke up to the sad news of the passing of Churchill show comedian Emmanuel Makori popularly known as Ayeiya who died in a grisly road accident.

The comedian perished on Langata Road on his way back home from a performance.

Most social media users passed their condolences to the family of the comedian using the hashtag.

Ojaamong

Busia County Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has been a topic of discussion today as he was controversially declared ODM Busia Gubernatorial candidate after a heated contest.

The governor had been trailing his opponent until Friday morning but miraculously won the contest after receiving disputed number of votes in two constituencies.

A majority of Kenyans expressed their surprise in how the incumbent governor won the nomination, though the results were later nullified by the ODM election board.

Otuoma

Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma has been trending today after he lost to Ojaamong in the Busia ODM nominations.

Following the controversial loss, Otuoma vowed to take action against the Busia ODM election board for allegedly declaring Ojaamong the winner in a chaotic election.

Social media users used the hashtag to console Otuoma urging him to continue fighting.

Senator Elizabeth Ongoro

Social media users have been discussing Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro after she defected from ODM and joined Amani National Congress(ANC).

Ongoro joined ANC after the ODM disciplinary committee on Thursday fined her Sh1 Million for violently storming Orange house last week.

The committee also barred her from vying for Ruaraka Parliamentary seat and ordered her to write an apology to ODM and a separate apology to party leader Raila Odinga.

Most of those who commented under the hashtag expressed their views on the manner in which ODM handled her matter terming the party as being unfair to women.
