Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Election Board Nullifies Busia County Nomination Results

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Election Board has nullified Busia County nomination results.

The Election board has ordered a repeat of the exercise on Tuesday 25th April 2017 due to the massive irregularities experienced.

Governor Sospeter Ojaamong' had emerged the winner with 92,358 votes in the just concluded ODM primaries in Busia with his challenger Paul Otuoma getting 63,752 votes.

Otuoma had cried foul following the announcing of the results saying he had been rigged out.

"People who voted in Teso South are more than the number registered with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Otuoma claimed that his rival rigged in Teso South and Teso North.

"Seems like everybody voted for him from those areas," he added.

Ojaamong on the other hand said he still treats the ODM directive as a rumour until the party communicates officially.

"Let them consult the officials at the grassroot. We have invested a lot in the poll. It will be unfair to us," he said.

He further added that Otuoma should be cleansed before being accepted back to the party.

"We should cleanse him first. He went to Jubilee and bounced back. We have to do a ceremony for him," he remarked.
