Here are some of the topics that were trending on Monday.

1. Moses Kuria

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria has also been trending after storming out of a radio interview on Monday morning.

Kuria was participating in a debate on Radio Maisha when Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati claimed that the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) was stretching to President Uhuru Kenyatta family's farm.

The Jubilee lawmaker reportedly banged his headphones on the table before walking out of the studio leaving Arati to proceed with the discussion.

2. #Sonko vs Uthamaki

This hashtag started on Sunday and has been the top trend for the better part of the day over speculations that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko being short-changed in the City gubernatorial race.

Those who commented on the matter accused Uthamaki (kingship) - a name coined to represent a faction reportedly laying claim to the Central Kenya political leadership.

A majority claimed that the group had been at loggerheads with Sonko and had been attempting to sabotage his gubernatorial ambitions by having its own preferred candidate for the governorship.

3. #UkweliParty

The hashtag was fueled to top of the trends after following the official unveiling of Ukweli Party, which is associated with human rights activist and Starehe Parliamentary aspirant Boniface Mwangi.

 

 

4. #DigitalDoctors

This is a trend that has shot up following the unveiling of ConnectMed which is Kenya’s first comprehensive tele-health platform that allows users to have a virtual consultation and prescription.

5.  #NairobiTaxHaven

This is a hashtag that has had a sizeable interaction over reports of Kenya’s secretive attempt to set up a Nairobi International Financial Centre (NIFC).

This move, a majority of netizens argued could contribute to illicit financial flows, inequality and a lack of transparency.
