Khalwale Forced to Hide from Kidero’s Supporters

Drama was witnesses at the Miimani Courts in Nairobi on Thursday when Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale was confronted by angry supporters of Nairobi governor Evans Kidero.

Khalwale had been in court to answer to charges of defamation against Kidero.

Kidero had accused Khalwale of tarnishing his name by linking him to the collapse of Mumias Sugar.

Trouble started when Khalwale started to speak to the press only for the rowdy youth to start shouting at him.

NTV reports that within minutes the youth were chanting slogans praising Kidero and chastising Khalwale.

Khalwale had to run for dear life after the rowdy youth got bolder and started shoving him and his supporters.

He had to seek refuge in the men’s bathroom as police officers tried to calm down the youth, Citizen Tv reports.

The Standard reports that Kidero had asked Khalwale to issue a public apology over his remarks.

The senator refused and instead dared Kidero to take legal action.

According to The Nation, Kidero obtained temporary orders restraining Khalwale or his agents from linking him to the Mumias Sugar scandal until the case was heard and determined.

Yesterday, Khalwale threatened to lead a mass exodus of Luhya MPs from CORD if his rift with Kidero is not resolved.

He later took to social media to condemn the actions of the youth.

It is barbaric and totally stupid for this boy Kidero to take me to court then hire goons to attack me ! #StopKideroGoons
