Kiambu Governor William Kabogo Claims Jubilee Chaos Were Aimed at Embarrassing President Uhuru Kenyatta

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has revealed that the chaos that bedevilled the ruling Jubilee Party primaries on Friday were meant to embarrass President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Governor Kabogo stated that Jubilee supporters needed to know that they had prepared for the nomination exercise across the country.

He accused aspirants and their supporters of engaging in serious malpractices that maligned the party and the party’s leadership – President Uhuru and DP Ruto.

“We have evidence showing serious malpractices and people need to desist from shaming the party and President Uhuru Kenyatta. We hope the mistakes made last week will not be repeated,” said Kabogo.

The governor alleged that the problems witnessed on Friday would have been caused by the reshuffle of returning officers just ahead of the exercise.

Kabogo expressed fear that many aspirants were irregularly involved in the exercise and there might have been plans to rig in some Jubilee Party hopefuls in the shambolic primaries.

“What we experienced was just disappointing. My competitor Ferdinand Waititu Babayao said he helped transport ballot boxes to the Wangige polling station,” alleged Kabogo.

He urged the party to prepare well and ensure that there is no room for mistakes to avoid a fallout after the primaries.

Nairobi County nominations for Jubilee will be done on Friday.
