Kibra MP Ken Okoth Assures Supporters He is Not Afraid of Rosemary Odinga's Candidature

Kibra MP Ken Okoth has strongly stated that he is neither afraid nor worried by the entry of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s daughter, Rosemary, in the race to replace him in the August 8 General Election.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Okoth downplayed the candidature of his party leader’s daughter and expressed optimism that he would be re-elected with a good margin.

“I am not worried at all. I know I will be on the ballot in August 2017, we are going to campaign very hard, and I know we will win,” Okoth assured.

The Kibra MP, who is serving his first term on an ODM ticket, has won the hearts of many of his constituents owing to his development record, particularly on education matters.

A section of his supporters has recently been anxious over the entry of Rosemary in the race to become the next Kibra MP.

Some have feared that Ms Odinga would be given a direct ticket, thus disenfranchising the incumbent who will be seeking re-election on the orange party ticket.

The former Prime Minister’s daughter announced her candidature on Saturday, promising to initiate more development projects is she is elected in August.
