Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has received a major boost in his re-election bid after he raised more than Sh200 Million for his campaign during a cocktail party on Thursday night.
The invite-only event at Nairobi Club was graced by about 300 people who included wealthy business individuals and politicians.
“The event was well attended. The Governor’s family, friends, politicians and business people were present,” a source privy to the matter told a local daily.
NASA Principals Raila Odinga, Kalozo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi are said to have missed the event but sent their representatives with huge donations.
According to sources, the Nairobi Governor will soon launch his re-election plan and prepare to face off his Jubilee opponents.
The Jubilee candidates who are in the race to dethrone him include former 2013 presidential hopeful Peter Kenneth, Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
