Kimani Ngunjiri Accuses Ruto of Interfering with Jubilee Party Elections

Bahati Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ngunjiri has accused Deputy President William Ruto of meddling in Jubilee affairs in Nakuru County.

The MP claimed that the DP had influenced the nomination of Nakuru Town MP David Manyara as the party interim chair in the region after a chaotic election.

He accused Ruto of imposing his influence through a popular Nairobi businessman who he alleged was using his wealth to undermine the Jubilee Party affairs.

“The DP is my friend and I am not trying to attack him. The way he is fighting with Raila in national politics I am also fighting with my opponents here. I will not allow him to destroy my constituency,” he declared.

This comes days after the Jubilee Party concluded the election of interim officials in different areas across the country. The exercise was marred by chaos in various regions including Nakuru as various aspirants jostled for positions.

In most of the areas, supporters laid blame on the party accusing it of imposing candidates and influencing the outcome of the primaries.

Earlier on, nominated Senator John Njoroge also accused the DP of attempting to single-handedly run affairs of the Jubilee Party.

The Senator announced that he had officially ditched the party for KANU owing to the chaotic scenes experienced during the grass root polls.
