KTN Journalist Hamza Bin Usuf Accuses Aden Duale of Threatening Him

A KTN correspondent has accused Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale of harassing and threatening him on his line of duty.

Hamza Bin Usuf, who is based in Garissa County, took to his Facebook page where he indicated that Duale had told him to be careful on what he reports or else, "nitakulima sababu mimi ni serikali...(I will beat you up because I'm the government)".

"Cheap politicians. Someone tell Dualle the fact that he is my uncle does not give him chance to tell me what I should cover in Garissa politics. I'm a journalist and I will be fair to everyone regardless of who he is

"You can't call me and tell me "nitakulima sababu mimi Ni serikali". my friend don't threaten me. I was a journalist before you formed jubelee government," Usuf lamented.

When Kenyans.co.ke contacted Usuf for more details on the dispute, he stated that the issue had already been resolved and that it was a family matter.

He further told this writer that he had decided to remain silent and would not wish to delve more on the issue.

His allegations come in the wake of another incident that involved a Standard Media Group journalist who was arrested on Wednesday and thoroughly beaten by police from the Quick Response Team (QRT) in Usenge town, Siaya County.

Mr Isaiah Gwengi was attacked, alongside and an activist identified as Rodgers Ochieng, while following up claims of harassment raised by the residents against the QRT police.

Mr Gwengi is said to have suffered head, neck, hand and waist injuries following the merciless attack.
