‘Lazy’ Trans Nzoia County Staff Locked Out of Offices

Staff from the Trans Nzoia County, both senior and junior were shocked after they arrived to work late on Friday, only to find themselves locked out of their offices.

The staff who arrived after the stipulated time of 8 am, found themselves stranded after the entry gates to the offices were locked.

The area governor Patrick Khaemba assigned an Administration Police officer to prevent any worker reporting for duty after 8 am entry into the offices, The Standard reports.

The governor and his deputy then conducted a roll call in all offices noting those who were not in.

It has been reported before that staff who work for government entities arrive to work late, only to leave early.

Kenyans have in the past complained of poor services in such institutions, some reporting that they were not served as the workers were not in.

Governor Khaemba reiterated that he would not tolerate such laziness in his county.

He said he had received reports that most of the workers report to work at 9 am.

The incident got heated when the governor later discovered that some officials had been let into their offices despite his orders.

Khaemba said disciplinary action will be taken against all late comers.
