Therefore Kenyans.co.ke has dug deep and now gives you a list of some of the leaders who share blood relations.

The first pair features President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee nominated Senator Beth Mugo who are cousins. Ms Mugo is a former Member of Parliament (MP) and represented Dagoretti constituency before it was split to Dagoretti North and South.

The Odinga family is another prominent and a key player in the country's history participating actively in shaping Kenya's politics. The politicians include Opposition leader Raila Odinga, nominated MP Oburu Odinga and Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga who are all siblings.

The three also come from the same family line with Gem legislator and Deputy Minority Leader in the National Assembly Jakoyo Midiwo who is their cousin.

The family of former Head of State Daniel Moi is also represented by two of his sons, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Rongai law maker Kipruto Moi.

The two are younger siblings to veteran politician the late Otieno Kajwang who formerly represented the County as the first Senator. Moses was voted in after his elder brother died in 2014 November, after developing medical complications.

The list also features Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula who is a co-principal in the CORD Coalition and a brother to Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi.
