Shocked residents of Koiyat Village, Kericho County are grappling with the reality of a man having decided to make a grave his sleeping quarters.
32 year old Robert Kering is said to have dug the grave inside his house at night with preliminary investigations suggesting that he intended to commit suicide or harm his child or mother.
This follows a family dispute which erupted after the man was stopped from selling the family land.
Kering, for some unknown reason, decided to spend the night in the grave.
His mother called his uncle and when the two went to talk to him, Kering came out welding a sword and a panga, threatening to kill them.
Speaking to Citizen News, Singoronik sub-location assistant chief Samuel Rotich confirmed that the man was arrested.
He remains in custody at Sondu Police Station as police investigate the matter.
