A 90-year-old woman is nursing serious wounds at a hospital in Molo, Nakuru County, after being raped for hours by an unknown assailant.
The frail woman who was attacked on Wednesday night, claimed that she was sleeping in her mud-thatched house when she was assaulted.
The man is said to have dug a hole through her house at around 2am using a jembe, but the sound of the activity was drowned by heavy downpour.
With a mask on, the attacker got into in her house and raped the the old woman for hours, leaving her in pain after stealing Sh1,000 from her savings.
“It was around 2am and there was a heavy downpour which made my screams faint as my neighbours could not hear me,” she narrated amid sobs.
Speaking from the victim's bed at St Joseph Private Hospital, the family urged the police to arrest the suspect for justice to prevail.
“We are investigating the matter and soon we will bring the assailants to book,” said Kuresoi head of police, David Wambua.
