An elderly man believed to be in his 70s was arraigned in a Mombasa court, accused of being in possession of 32 rolls of bhang worth Ksh 6,000.
Abdalla Mwana Japo was arrested a week ago as he tried to cross the ferry to Likoni.
He however pleaded not guilty saying he was tricked by his neighbor’s son who had asked him to carry the parcel containing the bhang for him.
He was released on a Ksh 200,000 bail. The case will be heard on May 18.
