A man was today sentenced to one month in jail for failing to pay train fare.
Bernard Omondi was accused of traveling without a train ticket in an Embakasi commuter train.
He was arrested when he could not explain why he couldn’t pay the amount.
He pleaded guilty to the charge before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Joyce Gandani.
Omondi said he did not buy the ticket because he wanted a free ride.
Along with the jail term, he was also asked to pay Sh3,000 fine.
