A man from Maluma village in Kitui County killed himself after he could not explain how he spent Sh 10,000 meant for his son's dowry.
The body of James Kailu, was found in a maize plantation on Wednesday after he had reportedly taken poison.
He had allegedly left for Nairobi a few days earlier with his girlfriend, only to return empty handed.
The money had been contributed by the deceased brothers to be used as bride price by Kailu's son.
It was supposed to be taken to his son's in laws on August 8.
Ikutha Sub County OCPD Kingsford Nyanga confirmed the incident to Citizen Tv.
