A 27 year old man from Garissa County has filed a suit against the Inspector General of police asking the court to compel the IG to produce his father.
Abdi Abdullahi wants the IG to to produce Sheikh Madhobe, a religious instructor at Umul-QuraDugsi (Islamic Religious Institution) in Garissa.
Abdullahi says that his father disappeared on April 27, 2015 after three armed men raided the institution and forced him into a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Star Newspaper quotes Abdullahi saying that since then, his family has gone to all police stations and mortuaries in Garissa, looking for his father to no avail.
Filling his suit at the High Court in Milimani, Nairobi, Abdullahi expressed fears that is father could be undergoing torture.
The case will be heard on May 5th.
