MCA Aspirant Joseph Waweru Charged With Obtaining Goods Worth Sh3.7 Million While Pretending to be a Doctor

A Nairobi businessman vying for a Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in Starehe Constituency was caught masquerading as a doctor from Nairobi Hospital.

Joseph Waweru alias 'Doctor' was charged in a Nairobi Court for obtaining goods worth Sh3.7 Million under false pretence.

He is said to have obtained 1,984 versatile iron sheets and 520 ridges from Winmax Global Company Ltd at Bishop Magua Centre, on Ngong road Nairobi by lying that he was a representative of BUPA International - a UK-based health insurance provider.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi released Waweru on a bond of Sh900,000 or a cash bail of Sh250,000.

Waweru's case will be heard on May 15th alongside another suit where a businessman, Joel Dishon, is also accused of masquerading as a doctor at the Aga Khan Hospital.

Mr Dishon was released in March by Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot on cash bail of Sh250,000.
