ODM Secretary General and Budalangi MP Ababu Nawamba has dismissed claims that a meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and leaders from the Western region had a political agenda.
Appearing on Citizen Tv's morning show Power Breakfast, the legislator said that contrary to some claims, the meeting had only one agenda, development in the Western region.
He added that the leaders had gone to the meeting to find ways in improving the lives of people in Western Kenya.
The Star reports that Ababu said that accusations of the leaders who had met with the president being moles were baseless.
KTN reports that top on the agenda in the meeting was plans for the recovery of Mumias Sugar Company that has been going through problems, burdened by piling debt and mismanagement.
According to Citizen TV, the presidents announced the allocation of Sh 1 billion towards the recovery of the company.
The president and his deputy William Ruto are expected to tour the company on Wednesday to announce the bail out plan.
