Miguna Miguna Offers 3 Solutions to Election Rigging in 2017

Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna has offered three solutions to help avert rigging in the much-anticipated 2017 General Election.

Firstly, the Canadian-based lawyer suggested that the election results should be announced at polling stations and not transferred to polling centres as it had been the norm.

He further noted that the results ought to be tallied by all parties including the media in order to ensure transparency in upheld.

Mr Miguna added that the audit firm, KPMG, ought to carry out the audits of voters' register in plain sight. He highlighted that this must then be verified and approved by all parties.

The lawyer's statements come at a time President Uhuru Kenyatta and CORD leader Raila Odinga have both alleged plans of election rigging.

According to Kenyatta's right-hand man, Aden Duale, Odinga was working with an American-Canadian, a Mr Michael Yard, to hack the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) systems inorder to manipulate the election.

On the other side, the former Prime minister indicated that with the recent amendment made to the controversial Election law - which now allows a manual back-up in voting, transmission and tallying of election results - Jubilee was planning to rig the election.

Mr Odinga threatened to boycott the election if the amendments were implemented.
