Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho Forced to Cancel Mpeketoni Rally by Jubilee Supporters

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was on Saturday reportedly chased away from a rally he intended to hold in Mpeketoni, Lamu County.

Joho, together with other Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders, were stopped from addressing the meeting after angry Jubilee supporters pelted them with mangoes.

The governor has been leading ODM in a six-day tour of the Coastal region since Thursday with an aim of popularising the party and the National Super Alliance (NASA).

On the first day, they leaders visited Tana River county where Joho castigated President Uhuru Kenyatta accusing him of launching a more than 30-year old ferry in Mtongwe and passing it as a new project.

He also blasted a number of Coast leaders who had ditched ODM for Jubilee.

The ongoing tour is also meant to clarify allegations made by President Kenyatta against Joho, concerning the use of Sh40 Billion allegedly offered to Mombasa County for development.
