Moses Kuria Warns Kikuyus Who Fail to Vote for President Kenyatta

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Thursday surprised Kameme FM listeners after he claimed that they needed President Uhuru Kenyatta more than he needed their votes.

Kuria, who was speaking during an interview with the vernacular radio station, warned members of Kenyatta’s community from failing to vote in 2017 adding that such actions will land them in unprecedented trouble.

"Stop this talk about voter apathy and how you will not wake up (to vote). If you want a heavy blanket to sleep come for one,” Kuria stated.

The MP, who is known for his fierce defence of the Jubilee government, did not mince his words as he went ahead to claim that a loss to Kenyatta would only hurt the Kikuyu community without any impact on the President or his relatives.

“You need Uhuru Kenyatta as your president more than he needs you. Don't think his children will lack school fees or lack house rent if he loses in 2017. If this government goes to the opposition you will face the music. It's my children who will suffer not Uhuru's if we are outside government,” he added.

The legislator was responding to fears that the Mt Kenya voting block might be demoralised from voting in the 2017 General Election over the many corruption scandals that have affected the current government.

During the interview, Kuria also downplayed the opposition’s plan to form the National Super Alliance (NASA) as an alternative to Jubilee.

"Cord failed with Pentagon. They now have NASA. After defeat they shall form CIA .They borrow everything from America," Kuria concluded in characteristic sarcasm.
