MP Charged With Squeezing County Official's Genitals

Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Joe Mutambu was on Thursday arraigned in court for allegedly assaulting a Kitui County official.

The Legislator is accused of squeezing one Mr Charles Kyale’s genitals on February 23 at Tanathi board room located at the County headquarters.

In addition to the genital assault, Mr Mutambu reportedly colluded with another person and attacked Mr Kyale - a political advisor to the Kisii Governor - causing him bodily harm.

It is reported that the MP and his colleague descended on the County official squeezing his private parts.

He was charged with assault, causing bodily harm and committing an indecent act. However, he denied the charges and was released on a Sh50,000 bond.

Magistrate Rose Ombata set the case for mention on October 23.

On Monday, October 5, Mutambu was also charged with assaulting Pastor Thomas Wahome of the Helicopter Church.

Pastor Wahome claimed that the assault happened in the MP's office along Ngong Road, where he had gone to reclaim a lorry that he leased to Mutambu the previous month.

The MP then allegedly detained and threatened him using a gun.
