Party Nominations for the Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya parties slated for Sunday failed to kick off after aspirants and party officials failed to turn up for the exercise in Homabay County.
According to Homa Bay County Police Commandant John Omusanga, they were not officially informed by the two parties that the process was to be held today.
Omusanga further indicated that they learnt about the party nominations reports from the media.
"Officials of the two parties have not notified police over their planned nominations today," stated Mr Omusanga.
The aspirants for the various seats in the County instead intensified their campaigns.
Homa Bay Town parliamentary aspirant on Ford Kenya ticket, Bon Awuor further stated that he did not prepare for the nominations because he did not have any challenger for the party's ticket.
"I am seeking to unseat the current Homa Bay Town MP on a Ford Kenya ticket. I do not have a challenger for the ticket," said Mr Awuor.
However, only a handful of aspirants seeking parliamentary and ward positions in the county had declared their interests to vie on the two parties' tickets.
