Mwangi Kiunjuri and Jacob Kaimenyi Attack Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Raila Over Forged KCSE Certificate

Two Jubilee Cabinet Secretaries (CS) on Wednesday criticised Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho for allegedly telling lies regarding Joho’s exam papers.

Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri condemned Joho for using fake documents to get to university, indicating that leaders should be sincere when it comes to matters of integrity.

“If you got a D- you should be happy with your grades but ashamed that you forged other credentials without even bothering to do any bridging courses,” Mr Kiunjuri noted.

Kiunjuri further mentioned that it was unfortunate for a leader in the calibre of Raila to glorify the behaviour of such leaders.

Lands CS Jacob Kaimenyi on his part indicated that he had been a University Vice Chancellor for nine years and had never seen a scenario where a student was admitted to the university with a D-.

Kaimenyi further indicated that if leaders could obey the law, there would be fewer cases of fake certificates and degrees.

“It’s high time we searched our hearts and did the right thing. You can’t fight something that is unlawful. Engaging in acts of forgery to fraudulently acquire things is wrong,” Kaimenyi emphasised.

The two Cabinet Secretaries were speaking in Garissa during the launch of the policy on the devolved system of government.

Joho has been under attack following a series of reports that he allegedly used fake documents to apply for his university degrees.

If found guilty, Joho could be locked out of the General Election as Gubernatorial aspirants are required to have authentic university degrees.
