Nairobi Gubernatorial Aspirant Peter Kenneth Chooses Linnet Mirehane As His Running Mate

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has settled on former Kilimani councillor Linnet Mirehane as his running mate.

Just under a month ago, Mirehani had threatened to strip naked alongside other women if she was side-stepped in her bid to become the deputy governor.

“I’m not fighting with anyone over this, if someone tries to step on me, we women shall strip naked,” she emphasised.

Miherane has been a die-hard and vocal supporter of Kenneth and has been popularising his candidature for the City top job under the Jubilee Party.

She has often been seen in his rallies and vied for the Dagoretti North parliamentary seat in 2013 on a URP ticket but lost to current MP Simba Arati.

This is seen as an interesting choice as there were several other politicians who coveted the chance to work with the former Gatanga legislator.

Earlier in 2017 at ACK Church in Pumwani, Kenneth had hinted that Miherane would be the deputy governor if he took office.

Mirehane, a mother of 3, has served as Non-Executive Director of the National Bank of Kenya since March 27, 2015.

She has over 7 years experience in the Political and Civil Society having worked with institutions like Constitution Reform Education Consortium (CRECO) and the Bureau for Development Services.

The aspiring deputy governor has participated in the development, design, management and implementation of various programs in areas of good governance and human rights,

Kenneth has for a while clashed with current Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, as they both want to contest the governorship under a Jubilee Party ticket.

Sonko had even threatened to quit the party after it emerged that top officials in the party were in favour of Kenneth.
