National Super Alliance (NASA) Crisis Meeting Fails to Take Place

The National Super Alliance (NASA) crisis meeting that was set to happen on Tuesday did not take place despite the meeting having been planned in advance and reportedly having made ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to cut short his tour of the United States (US).

According to sources within NASA, the plan to have the meeting was disrupted by the absence of co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.

The Nation reports that Mr Musyoka flew to Dubai last night for what has been described as "short business" and he is expected to return on Thursday.

On the other hand, Wetangula indicated that he could not attend the meeting as he was scheduled to grace the ongoing Legislative Summit on Devolution in Mombasa.

ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, who is also a NASA co-principal, declined to reveal much on the cancelled meeting but only disclosed that the session would not have taken place without the key partners who had other important engagements.

A NASA rally that had been scheduled for today was also postponed to Friday when all key partners will be available.

The cancelled meeting was expected to address various contentious issues that have been rocking the alliance, among them the joint nominations dispute and the technique to select the NASA presidential candidate.

Sources within the party had indicated that the meeting would also be used to come up with a way of reassuring NASA supporters that there is no crisis among the four leaders.
