This is Not Waiguru's Country, Uhuru Told

Director of Kenya School of Law, PLO Lumumba, has issued a strong message to President Uhuru Kenyatta in regard to the massive corruption at the Devolution and Planning Ministry, linked to Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

Lumumba blantly told Kenyatta that Waiguru was a burden to him and the country at large. The former Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission pleaded with the President to get rid of the Devolution CS, if she could not resign on her own accord.

Speaking during a popular show on KTN , Lumumba said that in as much as he had previously been charitable towards President Kenyatta, he could no longer hold the same position after the scandalous dealings witnessed in the country.

The eloquent lawyer revealed that him together with Barrack Muluka, a political analyst, had written a letter to the President telling him that they would not allow the country to go to the dogs. In the letter the two reminded Kenyatta of the oath he took when he assumed power.

Lumumba emphasised that Waiguru as the head of the Ministry ought to step aside because the country was at stake.

"This Country is not her country. This is our country."Lumumba stated.

Waiguru's name has been on the headlines in the past 3 months over graft cases at her Ministry and the National Youth Service (NYS) where Sh800 Million was stolen under her watch.

The recent revelations of the dubious dealings stirred anger in the country, after the Parliamentary Accounts Committee exposed extravagant spending at Waiguru's Ministry.

Among the expenses considered most ridiculous, was the purchase of a Sh1.7 Million touch screen television, carpets worth Sh3.8 Million and 18 condom dispensers at Sh450,000. In the list there was also the purchase of an office piano at Sh235,500 which the CS strongly opposed.
