NTSA Suspends Transport Licenses for 2 More Companies

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended the operations of two more public service vehicle Saccos.

This comes days after the transport authority withdrew licenses of the Embassava public service vehicles.

The licenses of North Rift and Umeria have been indefinitely withdrawn with the two companies being given a set of conditions to meet before resuming operations.

The two companies have been ordered to undergo fresh inspection and be installed with speed governors.

NTSA has also directed the two Saccos to employ their drivers and conductors as permanent and pensionable employees who have membership at National Social Security Funds (NSSF) and National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

Nairobi news reports that an Embassava manager has said that they are losing close to Sh3 million each day, following the withdrawal of their license.
