Nyamweya's Message to Haters

Football Kenya Federation President Sam Nyamweya has written a solidarity letter to his supporters and stakeholders urging them to disregard “propaganda” promulgated about him by the media.

The letter dated December 4, stated that the accusations leveled against him were “peddled around with truths, half-truths and falsehood” aimed at compromising his bid for a second term in office.

“I want to assure you that I remain solid and unshaken because these are malicious attempts to distract us from the focus on the elections ostensibly to scuttle the process,” read the letter in part.

The chairman pointed out the most recent scandal that implicated him in an Sh83 Million fraud case and urged his supporters to rise against the storm

“You must rise against such characters because theirs is nothing genuine but a scheme to mortgage our game and negate the gains we have made,” it read.

Mr Nyamweya whose first term in office has been marred by controversy, assured his supporters that he would neither waver nor would he get intimidated by the “negative forces”.

“Thank you friends for being true to the game, believing in me and standing together throughout…our emancipation, vindication and victory is nigh,” he concluded.

The letter was an overdue response on the recent attacks against him. Mr Nyamweya was arrested two weeks ago by the flying squad and grilled for seven hours over a fiasco that surrounded the payment of a Harambee Stars chartered plane.

He was probed again on Friday by the Criminal Investigation Department for allegedly receiving Sh83 Million ( $833,000) from an international media company through fraudulent means.
