Nominated Member of Parliament Oburu Odinga has stated he will sue Deputy leader of Minority in Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo over remarks he made linking him to be the man behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chaotic nominations in the Nyanza region.
Mr Odinga further alluded that he did not want an apology from Jakoyo over the remarks he made on Saturday that he bribed to rig in some aspirants and linked him to the chaos that was experienced during the just concluded ODM primaries in the opposition strongholds.
On Saturday, Mr Midiwo claimed that Mr Oburu had rigged in his cronies, locking out the electorate's preferred candidates and that he had a hand in the violence that was witnessed in the party's primaries in Migori Kisumu and Siaya.
He further alluded that the party would lose votes in key strongholds, even as Raila Odinga is running for the presidency all the while pointing the finger of blame at Oburu.
“The whole Nyanza region, from Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, HomaBay Kisumu Siaya and Busia, the biggest problem is one person, Oburu Odinga,” Jakoyo stated
The duo has been at loggerheads for a while launching scathing attacks at each other before, during and after the primaries but has now escalated after Oburu indicated that he would move to court to sue Jakoyo for defamation.
