The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced that all government institutions will be allowed to make bulk payments for various services to the Authority on the eCitizen platform through the e-Agent account.

An e-Agent account on eCitizen refers to a special type of account that allows individuals to access and manage specific government services on behalf of others.

In a notice on Wednesday, June 11, the Authority stated that the institutions will be required to draft a letter to the NTSA's Director General, George Njau, to be permitted to use this procedure for their payments.

According to the Authority, the letter must include personal details such as the ID number, mobile number, and email address of the e-Agent, as well as details of the institution, including its official email and phone number.

Furthermore, the letter, which can be submitted in physical form or soft copy, should be accompanied by a coloured passport photo of the agent.

NTSA has spotlighted that the agent should be an officer responsible for transport management or an officer who has access to the institution's NTSA service portal.

"Upon creation of the e-Agent account,  the agency/entity/Institution and the Agent will be notified through the email addresses indicated on the requested letter. The communication shall be sent through numberplates@ntsa.go.ke," it stated.

Government institutions make bulk payments to NTSA when they need to process multiple vehicle-related services at once for their official fleet.

The services include registration, licensing, and other road-related activities for their often large fleet of vehicles.

The e-Agent was engineered to boost the delivery of government services, streamline processes, increase efficiency, and promote transparency.

NTSA has urged these entities to seek assistance at help desks, which have been set up at the Authority's headquarters, regional offices, and Huduma Centres, if they get stuck in the process.

"We look forward to giving all entities necessary support as they endeavour to implement the directive by the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service before Friday, 29th August 2025, deadline," NTSA said.
