Onyango Oloo Contradicts Himself on 2013 Election Rigging Claims

Former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo on Sunday contradicted himself after he claimed that he had no evidence to show Jubilee rigged the 2013 elections.

Oloo was responding to media reports that have quoted him saying that he had evidence on how Jubilee inflated numbers in some areas to give President Uhuru Kenyatta a winning hand.

On Tuesday last week Oloo publicly stated: "I know what happened. Raila was to be sworn in as the President and I have a lot of secrets to that effect which I cannot share publicly".

"It is not a laughing matter. I have come with a lot of secrets in several files that I will share with Raila as we prepare to take over the next government," Oloo sensationally claimed when he joined Raila Odinga in Kisumu after ditching Jubilee.

On Sunday, however, the former Jubilee insider explained that he had been misquoted, adding that if he had been aware of any malpractices, then he would have testified at the Supreme Court.

“Sometimes I see what is written in the press and wonder where I made such statements...I am a man of integrity and if I knew that the vote was rigged, I would have testified in court,” Oloo explained.

He added that his complaint had been the handling of the case by the Supreme Court, specifically the fact that it refused to admit part of the evidence submitted by the CORD coalition.

The newly accepted ODM member and Kisumu Central parliamentary aspirant noted that the refusal by the Judiciary meant that the court of public opinion still believed that the election was rigged.

He added that he would use the information he had from Jubilee to enable the Orange Party to be better prepared in elections management.

Oloo made the clarification when he appeared for an interview with Citizen TV.
