Opposition MPs Abandon Muthama

A section of MPs from the Opposition have denounced their support for Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama after his recent attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Devolution CS Anne Waiguru.

Machakos Town legislator Victor Munyaka and his Mwala counterpart Vincent Musyoka, told Muthama to deal with the consequences of his own words without involving his community or seeking refuge from other leaders.

"It is time for Muthama to carry his own cross and stop crying foul. He knew what he was getting himself into by exposing Uhuru's romantic affair with Waiguru behind the back of First Lady Margaret Kenyatta," said Musyoka.

Following the remarks Muthama made during last week's CORD rally at Uhuru Park, the embattled Senator has been asked to apologise by Jubilee affiliated legislators who found him disrespectful to the President and women.

Muthama is being accused of allegedly tying the President to an extramarital affair with Waiguru whose ministry has been linked to corruption.

Last Friday, Interior CS Joseph Nkaiserry ordered the Director of Public Prosecution and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to investigate Muthama's remarks terming them defamatory and undermining national cohesion.
