The Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) disciplinary committee has passed a verdict on leaders who were summoned over alleged violence during party campaigns.
Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro seems to have been the hardest hit by the decision that was made on Thursday afternoon.
Senator Ongoro was fined Sh1 Million for storming ODM headquarters at Orange House in protest of a direct nomination certificate allegedly issued to Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang.
She was also ordered to write a public apology to ODM and a personal one to party leader Raila Odinga over the violent clash witnessed at the headquarters.
Additionally, Ongoro and Kajwang were reprimanded by the disciplinary committee over chaos which erupted a few weeks ago in Mathare leading to the death of two people.
Elsewhere, Utalii Member of County Assembly Peter Owera and aspirant Anthony Oluoch were found culpable of skirmishes witnessed during their campaigns and were fined Sh200,000 each.
In Migori County, the disciplinary committee found area Governor Okoth Obado guilty of chaos which erupted last week during an event attended by deputy party leader Hassan Joho and will now pay Sh2 Million.
The disciplinary committee further directed the party leadership not to visit Migori as nominations continue and that a peace team should be formed to undertake intercommunal dialogue.
Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma were also reprimanded for skirmishes witnessed in Funyula last week where one person reportedly lost his life.
The politicians were summoned following the chaos that erupted during political rallies in Migori, Busia, Ruaraka and at Orange House.
