There was panic at a church in Voi- Taita Taveta county, following the discovery of a suspicious suitcase in the church premises.
The Friday incident took place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where hundreds of women had gathered for a seminar.
Responding to the alarm, bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene to ascertain the possibility of a bomb threat.
The suitcase however, did not have any explosives.
The women later went back to the church to continue with the disrupted seminar.
Speaking to The Standard, Voi Officer Commanding Police Division Joshua Lutukai confirmed the incident.
He said the police are still conducting investigations and are particularly interested in finding out who left the suitcase at the church
