Pastor Ng'ang'a's Television Dream Crushed

Pastor James Ng'ang'a has suffered a big blow after the Communication Authority stopped him from running a television station for his Neno Evangelism Ministries.

In a letter signed by CA Director Francis Wangusi, the controversial preacher was told that his application for license to operate a free to air television had been revoked.

The letter outlined that permission to run a TV station was denied after vetting by various government security agencies.

Ng'ang'a who had already settled the license fee of Sh200,000 was informed by the authority that his money would be refunded.

According to a report by the Standard, the televangelist had last year been given a license offer letter by the Communication Authority and was supposed to sign an agreement, depending on the availability of channels on either PANG or Signet - Signal carriers.

The decision comes when Pastor Ng'ang'a is facing a criminal case in which he is accused of causing death through dangerous driving. Ng'ang'a allegedly caused an accident July last year at Manguo area, Limuru, in which Ms Mercy Njeri passed on while her husband was seriously injured.

The preacher who denied being behind the wheels at the time of the crash, was slapped with three other charges, failing to report an accident, giving false information to a public officer and conspiracy to defeat justice.

In November last year, Pastor Ng'ang'a was involved in yet another road accident along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru Highway as he tried to change lanes. The preacher however, settled the matter with a matatu driver on the spot.
