PHOTOS: CORD Supporters 'Overpower' Police

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) supporters on Wednesday apparently overpowered police who were deployed to man Uhuru Park where the Opposition leaders were expected to address them.

Due to the high number of supporters who were seeking entrance into the park at the same time, police were forced to abandon frisking every single person who was entering the venue.

The crowd, which was singing and chanting slogans in support for the Opposition, managed to spill over to Uhuru Highway while a police helicopter was hovering above them.

10 police vehicles had been deployed at the entrance of the park.
