Fake gynaecologist Mugo Wa Wairimu, who grabbed headlines after a video emerged showing him allegedly sedating and raping female patients, is still running clinics.
Wairimu, whose official name is James Mugo Ndichu, is reportedly still operating six unregistered clinics across the city.
Mugo claims to have graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree at the University of Nairobi in 2000.
A defiant Mugo has stated that despite not being approved by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board, he would continue treating patients who flock to his clinics.
“Even if I am jailed today I will continue practising medicine while in jail. I will continue doing what I was trained to do since I have the skills courtesy of my six years of training,” Mugo told Nairobi News.
He added that despite the negative publicity generated by the rape allegations against him, patients still trusted him.
Mugo is currently out on a Sh1 Million cash bail even as he faces charges of rape, administering a sedative and 10 counts of operating unregistered clinics.
Through his Facebook page, Mugo has been sharing pictures of his medical facilities with various equipment.
The suspect has declared interest in the Roysambu parliamentary seat.
