A security guard died on Tuesday afternoon and f13 others were injured after being hit by a matatu that rammed into a bakery shop near Railways bus terminus, along Moi Avenue in Nairobi.
The 14-seater van veered off the road into Baker's Inn bringing business along the busy avenue to a stand still as members of the public rushed to have a glimpse of what had happened.
According to witnesses, the driver of the matatu lost control at the roundabout and hit pedestrians outside the bakery.
The vehicle reportedly belonging to St Mary's Sacco was on its way to bus station to drop off passengers.
A towing service had to be called in to pull the nissan from the shop, with the injured being rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital.
