PHOTOS: Naivas Supermarket Damaged in CORD Protests

Two Supermarkets in Kisumu were on Monday attacked by CORD protesters who took to the streets to demonstrate against the Independent Electoral and boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The supporters pelted Naivas and Tumaini supermarkets with stones, shattering the buildings' glasses.

According to reports, the rowdy demonstrators then moved in to loot property of unknown value at Tumaini supermarket while at Naivas they were repulsed by police.

At the same time, one person was reportedly shot dead after the anti-IEBC protests in the lakeside city turned chaotic.

The scuffle erupted when a rowdy group joined peaceful Opposition protesters and tried to gain entry into the electoral body's offices.

This led to a confrontation between the anti-riot officers and the youth who allegedly attempted to loot shops at the CBD.
