PHOTOS: Raila Ally Jacob Juma Predicted His Death

Jacob Juma, a controversial businessman and an ally to Opposition Chief Raila Odinga, was on Thursday night shot dead in cold blood as he was driving to his Karen home.

His sudden demise has raised a lot of unanswered questions especially in the political arena as he was one of the fearless Kenyans who took the Government head on.

Though reports indicate that he was sprayed with 10 bullets by unknown people, Juma seemed to have predicted his death way before it came to pass.

In a Facebook post after he had renewed his gun license, Juma stated: “The Kenya Police today renewed my Firearm Licence which I was granted in April 1995, 21 years ago and did a variation in 2001, despite my opposition to Uhuru's corrupt gov't and poor governance. I commend the Police for that since I had been targeted by Jubilee gov't after Governor Joho's gun problems with the Police”.

Juma, who was a fervent supporter of CORD leader Raila Odinga, in a separate instance stated that Deputy President William Ruto was planning to assassinate him.

“William Ruto is using David Mugonyi, his Communication Secretary and former NMG journalist to malign my name first before the assassination,” Juma wrote in January 2016.

He dauntlessly mentioned people supposedly planning his assassination.

“Mr Zadock Angira stays in an apartment, off Manyanja Rd, 4th floor door no. 10 in Tena estate. He is part of the team to assassinate me,” Juma said.

Juma was at the front line to condemn the Government following major corruption scandals and had earlier promised to release documents touching on the EuroBond saga, a move that did not sit well with political leaders.

“High voltage intelligence reports reaching me is that Jubilee leaders have hatched a plot to assasinate me over my stand on corruption in Government. The leaders are so worried about Eurobond revelations and the confidential perpetuated by Jubilee Government,” Juma wrote.

The self proclaimed billionaire had at one point alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta had short-changed him in a mining business deal estimated to be worth over Sh60 Trillion.

The late businessman's company, Cortec Mining Kenya Ltd, had reportedly discovered commercially viable mineral deposits estimated at Sh61 trillion in the Mrima Hills, Kwale County. However, the company's license was during that period revoked, setting stage for a court battle pitting Juma against the government.
