CORD leader Raila Odinga's sister on Friday divulged that she has never received police protection since she became Kisumu Deputy Governor in 2013.
Speaking after the Thursday morning raid on her house, Ruth Odinga criticised the police asking them not to wait until her death for them to offer security which she is entitled to.
Ms Odinga mentioned that it had been a back and forth battle with the police when it came to her security detail.
"I went to the extent of requesting for officers to be deployed at night but they ignored me. I concluded that only God was my protector.
"I am appealing to the county commander... I know you have to inspect Prosperity Building with more than 20 officers day and night but could you deploy to me just the two security that I am entailed to?" she posed.
Nyando MP Fred Outa stated that the county commander would be held accountable if anything happened to Mr Odinga's sister.
Odinga's home located in Nyahera area was broken into by suspected robbers in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
During the raid, the thugs reportedly took away a television set and a solar panel.
Police in the area confirmed the incident adding that investigations into the attack have already begun.
