Ruth Odinga's Home Raided in Kisumu

A house belonging to Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga, who is also CORD leader Raila Odinga's sister, has been raided.

The house located in Nyahera area was broken into by suspected robbers in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

During the raid, the thugs reportedly took away a television set and a solar panel.

Police in the area have confirmed the incident adding that investigations into the attack have already begun.

This comes as the latest in a series of similar attacks launched on the homes of popular politicians, with the suspects mostly stealing household goods.

On Wednesday, armed raiders posing as Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers attacked the home of Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti in Nairobi's Karen estate.

During the incident, the criminals made away with Sh400,000. The governor was not present during the robbery.

Last week, the same was witnessed in Mombasa County where robbers raided Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi's house in Nyali estate.

According to the governor, he was sleeping in a different section of the house when he heard commotion in the living room.

On checking, he noticed that thieves had already stolen a laptop, a television set and other personal documents. No one was hurt during the robbery.
