Police Inspector Caught with Drugs

A senior officer at the Naivasha GK Prison was caught smuggling drugs and mobile phones to inmates.

It is reported that the Chief Inspector was found with more that 1700 rolls of bhang and 18 mobile phones that he intended to sneak into the correctional facility.

The officer had apparently hidden the contraband in tyres of civilian vehicles brought in for repair at the prison's workshop.

The stash of bhang was reportedly discovered by an officer on duty, who was acting on a tip off prompting a thorough operation that exposed the business.

Confirming the incident, Naivasha OCPD Titus Munyoki said that the officer seemed to have conducted the illegal business for quite a while.

Munyoki added that the Inspector will be charged in court for a number of offences.
