Police Release Profiles of 24 Deadly Mombasa Gangsters

Police in Mombasa have released the names and faces of 24 members of an old town criminal gang accused of orchestrating deadly robberies in the area.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on condition of anonymity, a source revealed that the profiled youth had been linked to violent criminal activity in the area.

The gang believed to have splinted from two groups; 'Wakali Wao' and 'Wakali Kweli' which operate in Kisauni and Likoni, has been accused of being behind a series of daring robberies.

The juvenile group which reportedly strikes while armed with knives and crude weapons, is said to target women and children and kills or maims victims at the slightest provocation.

Mombasa police boss Lucas Ogara divulged that the gang walks in groups of about 10-15 members wielding knives and pangas.

“We have seen a decline in the number of robberies and cases of stabbing in Old Town in the last month. We need public support to completely wipe them out," stated Ogara.

Ogara warned that the gang had to be stopped and urged members of the public to come forward with information on the 24 gang members.

Members of the public can use police hotline 999 or report to the nearest police station.
