President Uhuru Kenyatta Assures Jubilee Party Will Work With Aspirants Who Lost in Nominations

Losers in the Jubilee Party nominations may be handed a lifeline after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that the party would not abandon them.

Speaking at the Party headquarters in Pangani on Thursday, President Kenyatta stated that Jubilee would work with the unsuccessful candidates in other capacities.

“We are not leaving anyone behind. We congratulate those who won and ask them to listen to the wishes of the people. To those who lost, we want them to know that we are not abandoning them. Our party does not have a policy of use and abandon,” stated the Head of State.

He, however, warned those who won the primaries against being complacent noting that most of the incumbents who lost were voted out as voters expressed their anger in the misuse of funds in counties.

The President also reiterated at a meet the people tour in Githurai that the voters had made a choice and would not tolerate leaders only concerned about their own salaries and other selfish interests.

He added that the Jubilee primaries had given the electorate a chance to select their choices and urged all party supporters to maintain peace and unity.

President Kenyatta was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and a host of leaders including candidates nominated for various seats in Kiambu County led by gubernatorial aspirant Ferdinand Waititu.
