Police have arrested a man in Nyeri, over the printing of fake booklets and passing them off as the real Sister Irene Stefani beatification programme booklets.
Police officers stormed the building where the printing was ongoing following a tip-off and closed the premises, The Nation reports.
The pirates are said to have gotten the original template when it was being transferred to the county media for printing after the contracted Mathari Printing Press failed to print them because their printing machines were down.
Police are now looking for the person who impersonated the Catholic director and illegally contracted the printing press to print the booklets.
The beatification of Sister Stefani began Friday afternoon and will continue until Sunday. The event has seen thousands throng Nyeri town for the ceremony.
