Proffesor Anyang' Nyong'o Reveals Who is Behind ODM Nomination Chaos

Kisumu Gubernatorial Aspirant Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o has indicated why the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominations have been marred by violence and vote-rigging claims.

Speaking to a local TV station on Saturday, Mr Nyong'o stated that conducting party primaries was hard and that the mismanagement of the nomination was not done by party officials but by the agents who were tasked to assist in logistics of moving election materials from one point to another.

“ I have been the Secretary General of ODM and I am telling you for sure it is a difficult task to manage the agents. It is sometimes not really the mistake of party officials but the agents,” He stated.

The Kisumu senator also stated that some of the candidates were also to blame for the drama that had rocked the party stating that some have gone to the extent of hiring goons, bribing election officials and manipulating the process.

He further stated that the public should not blame the political parties because they do not have the needed resources to conduct primaries.

“From the outside, you can blame the political parties and say that they are not vigilant, but from the inside, I tell you the technology for running the party’s nominations is not easy,” Nyong'o Lamented

His remarks come after a rocky start to the ODM nomination process that saw the ODM National Election Board (NEB) nullify the  Busia County  Gubernatorial nomination results on Friday citing massive irregularities that had been experienced during the process.

On Saturday, the ODM party was forced to Cancel their primaries in Matungu, Kakamega County after some Aspirants found their names missing from the ballot box.
