Raila Odinga Made a Luo Warrior, Assures Supporters of 2017 Win

CORD leader Raila Odinga has undergone a rare ceremony at the Luo traditional shrine where he was given the blessings and the power to represent his community in seeking the Preisdency in 2017.

Dressed in the traditional regalia, Odingta assured his supporters that nothing would stop him from defeating President Uhurur Kenyatta in the 2017 general election.

At the sacred ceremony held at the sacred Got Ramogi Hills in Bondo, just a few kilometres from his Opoda home, Raila declared he was ready to do battle for the Presidency.

“I want to assure opposition supporters and those who want a change of guard in this country that I am more than ready for this political battle,” Odinga stated.

The elders presented him with a two-headed spear, sharpened on two traditional stones as a symbol of the tools needed in his quest for power.

“I have received blessings and tools of war that will enable me face the battle with a lot of courage. I will not disappoint you,” he added.

After the ceremony that made him a community warrior, the former Prime Minister defended himself from accusations that he was among the people who owe bad debts to the Mumias Sugar Company.

The ODM leader stated that he did not owe a cent to the struggling company, adding that he would not be cowed by Jubilee propaganda to muzzle him over corruption claims in the government.

“Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto have realised that they have failed in addressing the issues affecting this country and they have instead turned to blaming others,” he told the supporters gathered at the sacred ceremony.
